About “The Day I Found Out”

The day you're diagnosed with cancer is one of the most difficult days of your life.

The moment a doctor diagnoses you with cancer, life changes. You have to come to grips with a life-threatening disease, break the news to your loved ones and start to weigh treatment options.

While the Internet is full of information about cancer, it can be overwhelming. So instead of creating another cancer web site, we wanted to create a site that offered hope.

At The Day I Found Out, we've built a community where cancer patients can hear directly from cancer survivors about what it was like the day they found out they had cancer, and how they found the strength to fight it.

We also want people to know that there is no right or wrong way to respond to a cancer diagnosis. It's okay to be afraid. It's okay to wonder, "Am I going to die?" But it's important to know that there is hope.
